WE CONTINUE OUR TEAM COVERAGE OF TODAY'S PROTESTS FROM THE LOWCOUNTRY... THAT'S WHERE WJCL'S ALEX LITTLEHALES FOUND THAT PROTESTORS COULD STILL HAVE THEIR VOICES HEARD... WHILE STILL SOCIALLY DISTANCED FROM THE COVID OUTBREAK. THIS LOWCOUNTRY PROTEST... HAD A VERY DIFFERENT FEEL FROM WHAT WE SAW IN DOWNTOWN SAVANNAH EARLIER THIS SUNDAY. TAKE VO: SOCIALLY DISTANCED... BUT NOT SILENCED. YOU CAN SEE CARS... LINED UP BACK TO BACK... AND ON THEIR WAY THROUGHOUT THE TOWN OF BLUFFTON AS PART OF A SOCIALLY DISTANCED PROTEST OVER THE DEATH OF GEORGE FLOYD. ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE CARS... WERE DIFFERENT SIGNS AND MESSAGES... SIMILAR TO THE ONES YOU WOULD SEE IN PERSON... BUT WERE INSTEAD TAPED TO PEOPLE'S DOORS AND WINDOWS. SOME OF THEM READING "JUSTICE FOR GEORGE FLOYD..." AND OTHER PHRASES INVOLVING THE DEATH OF THE MINNEAPOLIS MAN THAT'S SPARKED NATIONAL OUTRAGE... AND PROTESTS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY. BLUFFTON POLICE SAY IT'S NOW THEIR JOB... IN LIGHT OF RECENT EVENTS... TO GAIN THE TRUST OF THE COMMUNITY BACK. TAKE SOT : "THAT ONE PERSON... AND ONE GROUP ACTUALLY... TARNISHED OUR BADGE. IT'S OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GET OUR TRUST BACK WITH OUR COMMUNITY AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS." TAKE REPORTER: BLUFFTON MAYOR LISA SULKA WAS A PART OF THE GROUP. TAKE BACK TO REPORTER: THIS PROTEST WAS OFFICIALLY TITLED "TOO MANY HASHTAGS" AND ALSO HONORED THE RECENT DEATHS OF BREONNA TAYLOR AND AHMAUD ARBERY. FRO
