A tractor-trailer drove onto a Minneapolis bridge crowded with protesters Sunday evening, aerial footage from local TV station shows.
As the driver tried to speed up, protesters overtook the vehicle and the driver stopped, video shows.
It then appears some protesters pulled the driver out of his vehicle before police arrive on scene and the group runs away.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety said the driver of the truck was trying to incite the protestors and called the actions "very disturbing."
The truck driver was injured, taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is under arrest, officials said.
Authorities have identified him as Bogdan Vechirko. Vechirko works for Ken Advantage, a trucking company, as an independent contractor. The company issued a statement saying their hearts go out to all those who are grieving the events of this past week and that they will cooperate with the police investigation.
No one on the bridge appeared to have been injured in the incident, police said. Authorities are trying to determine how the semi ended up on the bridge.
